SALES ASSOCIATE

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Buyer Responsibilities:

·         Develop seasonal departmental unit financial plans. Develop assortments by classification.

·         Update plans and complete stock liquidations and trip plans monthly.

·         Travel monthly to purchase merchandise, develop key items or vendors and make new contacts in the market.

·         Negotiate with vendors on pricing, content of assortment, post distribution fees, freight charges and markdown allowances.

·         Write purchase orders to include all details of purchase including distribution comments and direct maintenance of purchase orders as needed.

·         Establish price points by shopping competitors to ensure Beall's has the lowest price on items and/or categories.

·         Monitor sales and execute markdowns monthly while maintaining gross margin plan.

·         Work closely with Planners and Allocators to ensure distributions are executed correctly and assortments are tailored to individual store and market needs.

·         Monitor business to the class/item level for all stores and communicate results to Planning and Allocation.

·         Plan and execute sales promotions based on chain wide advertising calendar, as well as advantageous buys in the market.

·         Communicate consistently with Distribution Center and Accounts Payable.

·         Monitor distribution center processing and respond to all tips and trouble holds in a timely manner.

·         Monitor and control all issues that affect Accounts Payable and vendor relations.

·         Accurately and consistently communicate with all levels of the organization using phone mail, bulletin, network, store visits and meetings.

·         Conduct store visits to ensure products are displayed properly and maintain communication with store operations.

·         Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Merchandise Technician Responsibilities:

·         Perform key entry functions, such as item declaration, purchase order entry and maintenance/inquiry, TIPS, price changes and transfers.

·         Perform word processing tasks, such as bulletins, memos, objectives, recaps, plans and trip itineraries.

·         Provide vendors with selling information, order information, check delivery of on-order, follow up sample requests and requests return authorizations generated by TIP or trouble hold.

·         Answer questions from Planning and Distribution and stores and send regular updates on upcoming ads and general information through bulletins.

·         Complete ad results, prepare and distribute division pages, get ad samples, enter ad requests, complete requests and sku events.

·         Filing, return samples to vendors, send samples to stores, assist in checking quality of new merchandise in Distribution Center and distribute mail, reports and best seller samples from stores.

·         Grade orders, resolve TIPS, evaluate quality and resolve purchase order discrepancies with vendors. Work with the DC to expedite sending tickets to vendors.

·         Conduct purchase order allocations and replenishment maintenance.

·         Develop store and Buyer communications.

·         Conduct Assistant Planner training as needed.

·         Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Financial Planner Responsibilities:

·         Partner with the Merchants to develop strategic vision for division with sales and inventory to maximize gross margin objectives.

·         Collaborate with the buying team to develop detailed class plans

·         Develop the original financial strategy to include sales, inventory, markdowns and profit, supporting all geographic regions.

·         Identify growth sales opportunities or disparities based upon business performance.

·         Analyze weekly sales and reforecast plans based upon current business trends.

·         Develop upside strategies; prepared contingency plans to drive sales and gross margin objectives.

·         Maintain a running financial forecast to sales dollars, margin components and inventory..

·         Review merchandise status- demand trends, key programs and re-buys.

·         Ensure consistent and timely flow of communications with all business partners.

·         Ensure core programs are in stock position.

·         Maximize sales performance by volume group and ensure that corporate inventory objectives are met to improve stock turns and increased gross margin.

·         Travel to stores to evaluate merchandise assortments and ensure merchandise is maintained to corporate standards based upon seasonal floor sets

·         Coordinate communications to and from stores with regard to performance and plan concerns.

·         Communicate and direct merchandising direction and locational opportunities to Allocators.

·         Directly supervise one or more Allocation Analysts. 

 

Allocation Analyst Responsibilities:

·         Develop location and assortment plans by class based upon trend, store profiles, climate zone and key attributes.

·         Forecast and update plans based upon current sales trends by location.

·         Present business plans and strategies to maximize sales and gross margin by location.

·         Ensure congruency of assortment within area of responsibility as it relates to the total store profile.

·         Maximize current business by location , based upon sales and stock performance.

·         Recommend sales and inventory plans to Buyers to ensure buy plans are met.

·         Ensure core programs are in stock position as part of the corporate objectives.

·         .Identify growth opportunities and minimize down trending business by location.

·         Maximize sales performance by volume group and ensure that corporate inventory objectives are met to improve stock turns and increased gross margin.

·         Strategize with Business partners on assortment and locational business opportunities.

·         Investigate and determine demographic issues by region and partner with the buyer and stores on potential adjustments.

·         Travel to stores to evaluate merchandise assortments and ensure merchandise is maintained to corporate standards.

·         Coordinate communications to and from stores regarding performance and plan.

·         Communicate and direct merchandising direction and locational opportunities to Allocators .

 

Allocator  Responsibilities:

·         Perform timely allocations of merchandise to the stores,

·         Maintain adequate inventory assortments to the stores through mathematical evaluations.

·         Communicate store needs to Analysts, Planners and Buyers.

·         Review vendor shipments in distribution center.

·         Reviews merchandise assortments in the stores.

·         General office responsibilities.

·         Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
